The Year Ahead

Mar
18

Hi all - It's been a year since we started this group.  We have met at least 6 - 7 times.  We have made many new friends!  I haven't gotten much better with the website, but I will keep it going.  It's time-consuming since I don't really know exactly what I am doing.  It's kind of hit or miss.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get the pictures of the dogs up with their names below the picture.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!  I guess what really matters is that we continue to meet and enjoy our dogs and each other's company!

Our walk at Belmont Lake was awesome!  The weather was perfect, and we had at least 25 Berners attend!  Sorry no pictures this time.  We will have to return to this Park before the warm weather returns!

What is the Berner-garde?

The Berner-Garde Foundation was established to collect, maintain and disseminate information about genetic diseases observed in the Bernese Mountain Dog. The BGF is comprised of a voluntary Board of Directors, several committees and, at it's core, a computerized database. The database contains information which has been compiled over many years from voluntary submissions of data from owners and from other public sources of information, including the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals(OFA) and the Canine Eye Registration Foundation(CERF).

Thanks to Andy from the Westchester group for helping and getting this website up and running again!  I still have a lot to learn so check back often.  Please be sure to send pictures of your Berners and pictures from walks you attended.  I'll get them posted as I learn how to!  :)
